I am originally from California and have lived in Valencia, Spain since 2015. Love and sunshine brought me here and I fall more and more in love every day. I live in the city with my sexy, Spanish husband, our seven year old son, Luca, and our two pups- Kylo and Blue.
My personal yoga practice began over 20 years ago. At age 17, I began studying the impact of yoga on anxiety and stress. I signed up for yoga classes at a local gym for women and immediately knew it was the start of something special. Fast-forward ten years, I found myself in an incredibly dark place, suffering from severe anxiety and depression. I walked away from my “successful” professional career and I turned to yoga. During a beautiful year of healing and reconnecting with myself and my purpose, I signed up for yoga teacher training. The experience reignited something within me and I vowed to never work in an office again and to never work toward something without having passion and heart at the center.
I have a thirst for knowledge and am slightly obsessed with reading and learning about the mind, body and spirit. Some of the most useful advanced trainings I have completed were my Masters of Science degree in Psychology and my Yin Yoga Teacher Training. If you are looking for a book to change your life and perspective, check out my favorite, “The Universe Has Your Back”, by Gabrielle Bernstein.
And here we are! I have been sharing yoga with others for about 12 years. My heartwork in Valencia is focused on building community and connection through light-hearted events and spirit-nourishing experiences for all levels of practitioners. In addition to local events, I fell in love with hosting international retreats as a way to connect deeper within ourselves and with one another. I teach in a way that allows you to be you, without taking yourself (or yoga!) too seriously. You will be welcomed with a hug and silly jokes. I will be sharing inspiring poetry, nuggets of positivity and have been known to secretly lead you to twerk or start a dance party mid-class. You are welcome, just as you are, regardless of background, experience or language. My hope is that my yoga events not only foster a love for yoga, but also create new, lifelong friendships. See you on the mat!
