Mmmmm crepes… although France is the country most famous for their crepes, Spain offers a variety of crêperies where one can enjoy a crepe for a meal or merienda. As someone who is intolerant to gluten, I am always searching for places to enjoy tasty treats without the gluten. Here are three places where you can enjoy a delicious crepe, sweet or salty, without the gluten!

Crêperie Bretonne is a popular spot to enjoy a crepe in the city center of Valencia. This delicious restaurant is located near the beautiful Plaza de la Reina and is adorned with funky decor and an iconic bus indoors. Highly recommended for a cozy date night. Try their famous “Galettes de Sarraceno“, which are made of buckwheat flour. Despite it’s name, buckwheat flour is actually “sin gluten“!

La Girafe Crêperie. Thankfullly, you can now enjoy crepes sin gluten by the beach as well! Crêperie Bretonne has opened up a second location in Playa Patacona, located steps from the sand. For a vegan, gluten-free option, try the Galette Méditteranéenne with buckwheat flour. Afterwards, enjoy a siesta in one of their hammocks in the “chill-out zone”on their relaxing outdoor terrace.

Pizzeria un Posto al Sole (also located near Playa Patacona) is one of my favorite locations for a gluten-free pizza. However, one of the bonus points, is that I can always follow it up with a delicious gluten-free crepe! Extra points for this restaurant, as all gluten-free orders are  prepared in a separate cooking space so this restaurant is perfect for celiacs. Try the gluten-free crepe with nutella. You’ll thank me, I promise.
